Keystone's Bank Communication System (BCS) provides a wide range of functionality to support FEDWIRE, CHIPS, S.W.I.F.T., DTC, NBES, and TELEX. The application modules, which operate on IBM mainframes, allow institutions to build the environment they require to successfully support required services. Modular design, coupled with rich functionality and the ability to interface the funds transfer, securities clearing and message handling with other application areas, provide the flexibility to adapt the package to fit individual processing requirements. Time-proven and mature, BCS offers the functionality and support required for a successful software package and vendor relationship.

FEDWIRE
|
The BCS FEDWIRE sub-system provides full communication and functional support of the FRB wire service.

CHIPS
|
The BCS CHIPS sub-system provides full communication and functional support of the New York Clearing House Payment System.
|
|
S.W.I.F.T.
|
The BCS S.W.I.F.T. sub-system is a multi-TID, multi-line CBT supporting S.W.I.F.T. functionality.

DTC
|
The BCS DTC Securities sub-system provides full communication and functional support of the Depository Trust Company's Mainframe Dual Host (MDH) system.
|
|
NBES
|
The BCS NBES Securities sub-system provides full communication and functional support of the Federal Reserve Bank's National Book Entry system.
|
|
TELEX
|
The BCS TELEX sub-system supports a full range of TELEX services with comprehensive message handling capabilities including registration, splitting, and on-line testing functions.

|
ANTICIPATIONS
|
Anticipations that are entered or received from S.W.I.F.T., TELEX or bank interfaced applications are mapped for subsequent automatic or operator scrolled matching. The results can be used to have the system produce 'failed to receive' or 'received but not expected' messages that are ready for transmission via S.W.I.F.T. or TELEX.

FUNDS/POSITION CHECKING
|
BCS verifies availability at the account, bank bilateral and debit cap levels for funds transfers and at the customer, cusip, participant and debit cap levels for securities.
|
|
SYSTEM INTEGRATION
|
BCS provides a standard interface enabling efficient coupling with a variety of custom or packaged middle or back office systems. The interface is based on exchanging standard message formats in batch or real-time mode.

|
MESSAGE ROUTING
|
BCS features a comprehensive intra-bank message routing capability which permits messages to be routed to any destination according to user defined criteria.
|
|
FICHE
|
BCS provides the capability to specify if all or selected reports are to be microfiched, allowing safe and cost effective retention of BCS reports.
|
|
COMPLIANCE
|
Comprehensive screening of payments/messages to ensure compliance with the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
|
|
AUDIT
|
A comprehensive audit capability traces all messages and their associated status and data changes from original message inception through final disposition. For all changes the operator, time, date, terminal, status, and, if applicable, the before and after data are recorded.

|
SECURITY
|
BCS provides a fully secured environment that can operate alone or under a higher level security package.
|
|
ARCHIVES
|
All messages, logs (if available), and audit trails are retained for a user specified period of time. Effective retrieval and search menus provide for displaying/printing from the archives.
|
|
SYSTEM
|
BCS, operational on IBM mainframes, is written in COBOL and uses VSAM and CICS (command level) to achieve the high degree of maintainability and portability required in bank operating applications software.
|
|
YEAR 2000
|
BCS is fully year 2000 compliant.
|
